We’re a premium personal training studio first and foremost, but one with many extras. We offer physiotherapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, dry needling, nutritional advice, blood testing and massage therapy, all under one roof. But you can also do yoga, take boxing lessons or participate in one of our famous – or should we say infamous – specialty camps. Whatever’s your pleasure, we’ll make sure you leave the building feeling fulfilled and recharged.

Your body is not the same as your neighbour’s. Your needs are different from those of your friends. And because none of us are the same, there is no such thing as a standard path to health. That’s why before we launch into any form of activity, we run a number of tests and questionnaires to find out what you need to get where you want to be.

Our trainers are among the very best Amsterdam has to offer. Highly educated, highly qualified and all of them athletes in at least one sport, they truly practice what they preach. Our trainers are also the people you’ll develop a love-hate relationship with. The people that will push you to go the extra mile, when the previous one was really the last one you wanted to do. And even though you may not always like them or sometimes even hate them, they’re only here to help you. Because without the right guidance and motivation, that dot on the horizon will never come any closer.

Fed up with the general state of gyms and personal training, Evolve founders Michael Henskens and Sander Beenders set out to revolutionise the fitness experience. With a strong focus on individual needs instead of mass solutions, they created a high-end, sustainable health facility designed to inspire discerning fitness enthusiasts to bring out their inner athlete.

Michael Henskens
Michael has always lived an intensely athletic life. He has stepped into the ring numerous times - both as a fighter in Chinese Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts, and as trainer. After first studying physiotherapy and movement science, Michael earned his master’s degree in communications. With his diploma under his belt, Michael travelled the world to learn from the best, such as Charles Poliquin, Jon Hinds, Tom Buijnen, Bob Cooley and David Haye. Michael is always experimenting with new methods and ways to integrate them into the existing Evolve training philosophy.
SANDER BEENDERS
SANDER BEENDERS
Sander Beenders
Sander’s passion is sports. At a young age he started practicing judo, making it all the way to second place at the World Championship for teams. During his judo years, Sander became fascinated by fitness and health, paving the way for his fifteen-year career as a personal trainer. He has degrees at the National Academy of Sports Medicine, International Academy for Physical Training and Active Release Techniques and has profound knowledge of dietetics. His experience and knowledge have made Sander one of Amsterdam’s most successful trainers, training many professional athletes and celebrities.

OUR PLAYGROUND

Tucked away in the back of a classy canal house lies our luxurious 600 m2 playground. You won’t find any boring cardio machines in our facility. Or mirrors for that matter. In fact, we wouldn’t even call it a gym. Rather, it’s a high-end training arena unlike any other. And one that makes you want to work out like never before. When was the last time you hit a tyre with a sledgehammer in your gym? Climbed monkey bars? Or sprinted flat out while hooked up to a bungee cord? Exactly.
